About Principia College

Principia College is a four-year private co-educational liberal arts college in Elsah, which is a village in the US state of Illinois, in Jersey County, with a small population of just 641 inhabitants, as estimated during the 2006 census.

Principia College was established in 1910, with a mission to `serve the cause of Christian Science.` It is currently renowned for its solar car team and its Public Affairs Conference, the oldest student run public affairs conference in the country. In 1993, its campus was designated a National Historic Landmark by the United States Department of the Interior.

Athletics

Principia's sports teams are known as the Panthers and they compete in NCAA Division III. Their distinctive colors are blue and gold.
